I recently pinned a post to our FB page from about a year ago when we reluctantly changed our name from Aloha Poke Fairhaven to Fairhaven Poke. This was due to the increasing media attention over Aloha Poke LLC of Chicago. There has also been some confusion for some people, as we are still listed as Aloha Poke on some travel sites. We have since moved on from that episode with the support of the local community and visitors alike. Aloha Poke LLC Chicago has recently been facing increasing backlash over their actions this past year.. We were just the first of several business owners who were compelled to change our names and rebrand our businesses. This issue has struck a nerve of people of Hawaiian descent and residents of Hawaii.alike. On behalf of the Fairhaven Poke staff I want to thank you for your continued patronage. Mahalo! David Jacobsen and Mark Ushijima
We are fully stocked, and ready to serve all of your poke needs. Staying open till 6pm. Happy 4th of July! *Fresh ahi, coho salmon, smoked ahi.*

We are fortunate to have artist Stephanie Britt in the shop on Friday June 22 from 5 pm to 630 pm. She will be displaying some of her pieces as part of the Whatcom Cultural Arts Festival Allied Arts Of Whatcom County, taking place in Fairhaven this weekend. Stephanie and her husband have recently moved to the area after living in Kauai for 30 years. We also plan to have some Hawaiian music and hula outside the shop to help us celebrate the Hawaiian culture at this years event. Mahalo!

A message to our loyal customers. Since opening in 2016 we have taken pride in using fresh Hawaiian ahi as the staple fish in our poke. One of the drawbacks in doing this is the extreme volatility in the price, which is affected by many outside factors. Sometime last week the price spiked to the point that we decided not to bring it in. It has come down a bit since, but it still currently very expensive. As a substitute we have been using a local Pacific Northwest cold water albacore tuna. We have used this in the past at the store and at the Farmers Market with extremely positive reviews. It is an excellent fish for poke with a higher oil content than other warm water tuna species. We are going to wait another week and see where Hawaiian ahi prices are before we resume our shipments. We'll keep you posted. In the meantime; we still have all of our other fish and seafood poke options available so we hope you come by for a visit. Mahalo!
We make a set amount of these every morning. Come by and get yours today!
